Pink Godzilla Dev Kit review
OK, since everyone else was at Ozzfest but poor little me couldn't get tickets, I was stuck at home all day play Pink Godzilla Dev Kit. Honestly I can't really complain though, playing Pink Godzilla is a retardedly fun.
It's a card game that is about making videogames. The ridiculousness of some of the cards reminds me of Munchkin but gameplay is dramastically (yes, this now officially a word) different. The idea is that to make a game it takes a title card, this decides the genre of the game, a character card, each one can work with two different genres, and two gear cards. It's hard to find the gear cards you need for two reasons:
1. You are usually strapped for cards. You only get to draw one card per turn, and you get to play two. This often becomes a problem, although there are ways around it which I'll get into later.
2. Each genre requires two specific gears. There are ways around this one two but it's usually pretty hard to find what you are looking for.
The way to fix the lack of cards is to complete games. When you complete a game you get to draw two cards (three if it is the first game of that genre made so far). Also some of the special ability cards and power ups help you get more cards. To help you find the card you need there is the resource row. This is a row of five face up cards that you can trade for. Also there are wild cards that can take the place of gear.
The interesting twist of the game is that once you have the cards necessary to complete the game you don't have to finish it, you can continue to add upgrades to it, like more characters, upgraded gear, or easter eggs. The game is only completed when you say it is. The game really becomes a balancing act as far as your hand goes. If you spend forever on a games development you will start to run out of cards, as completing games is the best way to get cards. If you complete to many games though, the game (as in the card game itself will end), once a player completes for games it's over. I found that the best strategy was to make a few quick games at the start to amass a big hand and then spend the rest of the game working on masterpieces. There are really a lot of strategies you can try. Like any good card game it is easy to pick up but hard to master.

I don't really know how to rate a card game so I'm giving it a - thumbs up

This is simultaneously the gayest thing Mick Jagger has ever done and the straightest thing that David Bowie has ever done. Admittedly borrowed from here.
